Nederland, TX is located 90 miles east of Houston, 10 miles southeast of downtown Beaumont and alongside the Jack Brooks Regional Airport. Nederland was originally founded by Dutch settlers. It became incorporated as a city in 1940. Nederland's larger surrounding cities of Beaumont, Port Arthur and Orange, became known as the Golden Triangle. Nederland is located at the end of the Keystone Pipeline. The Boston Avenue Shopping District offers boutique shopping and events throughout the year, such as the Nederland Heritage Festival, the Christmas Parade, Homecoming Parade, and Third Thursday shopping events. The Nederland Windmill and Le Maison de Acadiens Museums and Tex Ritter Park can also be found on Boston Avenue.
